In Umbria, the "green heart of Italy" we visited Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, Spoleto, Todi, and Orvieto.

We continued to Perugia, the capital of Umbria. The atmosphere is wonderful with many internation students. Here the daily passegiata is a serious matter on the Corso Vanucci and the duomo steps are always filled with people.

After working on the farm, I met my mother in Pisa. We climbed the leaning tower, then continued on to the small mideival village of San Gimignano and then to Siena.

Our last day in Puglia we visited Trani, a little village by the sea.

Ostuni

After our stay on the farm, Elena and I travelled around Puglia a bit. Our first stop was Ostuni, La Citta Bianca (The White City). It was absolutely beautiful! A magical little town near the Adriatic coast.
